You must bring the following items for packet pickup:
- Valid Photo ID
- Valid USAT card. If you do not have a a USAT annual membership, you most likely paid for a one day USAT membership during your registration. If you entered an expired or invalid USAT annual membership number during registration you will have to pay $12 at packet pickup.
**Race Packets will only be given to racers. You can not pick up someone else's packet. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule.**
Arrive early and bring your photo id and USAT card if you are a member. At packet pickup you will receive your run number, bike number, helmet number, timing chip, swim wave cap, goody bag, triblend race shirt and water bottle.
There will be an informational meeting held on Friday night at the race site at 6PM. At this meeting, we will explain the race course, triathlon rules and will answer any of your questions. Bring any questions you may have. This clinic is required for for first timer triathletes and highly recommended for everyone.
You must wear your assigned race chip on your left ankle and unaltered race number at all times during the event. This year we will be using a reusable race chip that will be given to you at packet pickup. Timing is handled by Seashore Striders Event Production.
You must be at least 15 years of age to race. You would have automatically signed a USAT one day insurance waiver when you registered online, but if you did not, you will be instructed at packet pickup to pay the one day fee or show your USAT annual membership card. This is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event and all participants must either be a USAT member or purchase a one day membership. For more information on USA Triathlon, go to their website at www.usatriathlon.org. Athletes are encouraged to complete the event evaluation located on their website in an effort for USAT to obtain more information on this event.
Parking is limited within the Delaware Seashore State Park Tower Road area. The State Park will open at 5:30 AM for racers and requires a parking pass for vehicles. ALL PARTICIPANTS CAN GET IN TO THE PARK FREE BY DISPLAYING YOUR RACE NUMBER. Parking is also available across Rte. 1 at Tower Road-Bay, or 1/2 mile South at Key Box (ocean side) and New Road (bayside). Parking at DSSP is limited and once inside, you will not be allowed to leave until all race participants have completed the event at approximately 11 AM. There is free parking in Dewey Beach so you may park anywhere on the street and bike or walk to the race site. Meters and permits are no longer in effect. Do not park at the private residence of Indian Beach or unload on Rte. 1.
No one other than registered racers will be allowed in the transition area. You will be body marked prior to entering the transition area.
All racers must be complete the course within 3 hours of their start time (when their swim wave starts). Racers still on the course after the cut off time will not be timed but will be allowed to finish or picked up by a sag vehicle.
Prizes to the top finishers in the following age groups: 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+. Awards go to the 3 Overall male and female and 3 Overall Masters Males and Females; Top 3 Relay Teams (all male, all female and mixed relay), Top 3 First Timers, Clydesdales, Master Clydesdales, Athenas and Aquabikers (M and F) and Biathletes (M and F).
Food and beverages will be available upon finishing the race for triathletes. All racers eligible to win raffle prizes. Massages for a fee will be provided after the race. Donation will be requested of all non racers. Beverages will also be sale for non participants.
For first time triathletes, you are allowed to register as a Novice. These waves begin after all other race waves have started. While you are not competing in your age group, you will be competing and timed with other Novices. If you are a competitive athlete, consider racing in your age group. *You must complete the course within 3 hours of whatever wave you start in* - You will not be allowed to switch waves once you have registered.
