A shuttle will be taking racers and spectators to and from the park leaving from points along Dewey Beach. Stay tuned for more shuttle details. PLEASE be sure to spread the word to any of your friends and family who

after the race begins at 7:30 AM. For those who choose to walk, it is only a ½ mile walk into Dewey Beach, which does not require permits this time of
year. Do not park in the private residence of Indian Beach or on Rt. 1 highway.
As a spectator, use extreme caution when crossing the bike route. THE COURSE: (due to unforeseen
conditions, additional course changes may take place.) TIMING: You must wear the race chip and unaltered race number at all times during the event. You will receive your Race Chip during packet pick-up or just before the race. You will be responsible for returning the chip whether you race or not. All parties that do not return their race chips and bands will be charged $$. INSURANCE: Your must be at least 15 years of age to race. This is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event and all participants must either be a USAT member or purchase a one day membership. For more information on USA Triathlon, go to their website at www.usatriathlon.org. Athletes are encouraged to complete the event evaluation located on their website in an effort for USAT to obtain more information on this event. RACE CAPACITY: We will accept approximately 1,000 participants and we reserve the right to close registration when deemed necessary. We make every effort to keep the race at 1000 people in the race. Do not time your entry. IF you register when 950 people are signed up and you miss the cut off, we can not be responsible. Do not wait to register. We can not predict when the race will fill up. (There is a NO refund policy in effect.) PRIZES: Prizes to the top finishers in the following age groups: 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+. Awards go to the top three male, female and mixed relay teams and the specialty classes of Clydesdale and Athena. POST-PARTY: A spread of food for triathletes immediately following the race. You may want to bring a chair or towel to sit on. The food is for racers so family members are asked to donate $5 each for food if they plan to eat. A raffle is also held, for sponsor donated "door prizes," so that everyone can go home a winner. FIRST TIME TRIATHLETE CLINIC: Friday night before the race at 6 pm at the race site. Unfortunately, the State Park must charge everyone who enters the park by car at this time. Car pool if possible or park in Dewey and ride your bike. Bring any questions you may have. This clinic is highly recommended for first timers. LODGING: The
Official Race Hotel
VOLUNTEERS/SPONSORS NEEDED: We need your help! If you have friends or family members who would like to volunteer in any capacity, please e-mail Ava. Also, if you or someone you know is involved with a product or service that you would like to present to the racers, call the email Ava @ wava@dmv.com.
